“VERDU IR KEPU” MAGAZINE
The task with limits brings more creativity. And it did for a project of “Verdu ir Kepu” (“I Boil And Cook”) magazine by Kitchen Myth Busters (VMG).
It is a magazine meant to show food making as an interesting and fun activity for people who are not interested in fancy cuisine and professional culinary. The idea this magazine brings is that the time spent in kitchen is something more meaningful than just a routine of daily food making. A new approximately 100 pages length issue comes every two months. It is full of easy and fast healthy food recipes for every day and holidays. Therefore, the design of it has to be interesting and playful to stay fresh every time.
Information is the king and it had to be put short and in style here. A lot of pictures of food making process filled the pages. Some of them are really funky – full of vibrant colours and patterns in the background. They fit well among various illustrations, “how-to” infographics and short yet funny and interesting facts about products and recipes. Every handy issue contains more than 130 recipes, inspiring stories and interviews full of playful drawings and engaging typography. As the target audience of the magazine is people who make simple food at home, the images used for illustrations show children, family and communicate cuteness and sincerity to become more familiar for them.
